I had the great pleasure of visiting Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzogovina in early September to attend MIE2009: Medical Informatics in a United and Health Europe. It was a terrific conference, put on by Prof Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, Chair of the Scientific Programme Committee, Prof Izet Masic, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, and Jacob Hofdijk, PhD, President of the European Federation for Medical Informatics.
